Pre-Test -> Learn ->  Post-Test

In order to objectively validate the learning or benefit that participants achieve in the areas of basic musculoskeletal human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology within the 10-day academy, pretesting and posttesting are done for 3 primary organ systems. The extent of change or improvement in scores per student is measured statistically.

Findings are used to help support the need for funding of this unique summer program as enrollees gearing up for majors in Allied Health fields in higher education can move forward with greater confidence and competence in Biologic Science courses.

Curriculum Details:

Lab Breakout Sessions:      Peer Instruction

 In the lab breakout sessions, enrollees will enhance   their understanding of structural relationships of   various organ systems and musculoskeletal structures   by using 3D models while collaborating with peers.

Didactic Lectures:

*On screen topics and body segments associated with notebook handouts

* 3D4 Medical software videos help to reinforce geographical relationships

* Lab models circulated among attendees to add a 4th dimension to 3D learning.

Human Anatomy & Physiology Worksheets

Following interactive lectures, hands-on active learning, including coloring fun and peer quizzing using worksheets or flash cards, proves to be engaging and effective as learning tools.
